Mabton School District #120: NOTICE to SPECIAL EDUCATION Students between 1971-2014.

In accordance with state and federal laws, special education records are retained by Mabton School District for a minimum of 6 years past the time the student exits special education and/or separates from the district. Upon an internal records review, the district has determined that it remains in possession of special education records for some students beyond this timeline.

If you were a former student, or legal guardian of a student, who may have special education records dated between 1971 and 2014, you may contact the special education department at (509) 894-4852 to review or receive these records prior to May 1, 2025.

Notice is hereby given that Mabton School District Special Services Department intends to destroy the special education records of students who have exited from all special education programs prior to and during the 2013-2014 school year beginning May 1, 2025. 

If no contact is made by the student or guardian in response to this bulletin, the school district will proceed to destroy all Special Education records of students that have exited Special Education Programs prior to and during the 2013-2014 school year, on or after May 1, 2025.
